Why don't I hear anything when I play a joke?
Verify that your computer is capable of playing sounds. If sound will not function with any program on your computer such as a Real Audio player or an mp3 player, than reboot your computer and try again. If rebooting your computer didn't fix the problem, make sure your sound driver is up to date and that your audio hardware is installed properly.
If other programs are capable of producing sound, close any programs that also feature sound such as Real Audio players or mp3 players. If the problem is still not resolved, try rebooting your computer. Lastly, try downloading the latest version of Flash.
Why won't the joke work with WebTV?
Our Flash jokes are created with Flash 4 which is not supported by WebTV at this time.
Why is the flash joke not loading properly?
In most cases, this is only a temporary connection issue. Trying again later should resolve it. If it persists, it's likely because Shockwave Player is only partially installed, damaged, or has a mix of components from different versions. Any of these situations can be fixed by uninstalling, then reinstalling, Shockwave Player.
You can download an uninstaller for Mac OS and Windows:
Shockwave Player uninstaller (Mac OS) Shockwave Player uninstaller (Windows)
After you've uninstalled Shockwave Player, you can reinstall it.
I am having trouble downloading Shockwave Player.
An earlier version of Shockwave Player is pre-installed with most popular Internet browsers. Sometimes, damage to the Shockwave Player that's already installed can prevent your upgrading to the latest Shockwave Player. This can usually be fixed by uninstalling, then reinstalling, Shockwave Player.
You can download an uninstaller for Mac OS and Windows:
Shockwave Player uninstaller (Mac OS) Shockwave Player uninstaller (Windows)
After you've uninstalled Shockwave Player, you can reinstall it.
In some cases, it's actually the browser which is preventing the successful installation of Shockwave Player. In such instances, simply reinstalling Shockwave Player may not work. Reinstalling or updating the browser, then installing Shockwave Player should take care of this.
Why do I encounter a 4146 error when I try to save a Shockwave title?
The 4146 error you encountered is usually the result of trying save through a firewall or proxy server. When accessing Shockwave content in your browser, Shockwave Player uses the settings of the browser. When you access Shockwave content with Shockmachine, though, it does not use the proxy settings of your browser. This can lead to the error you encountered.
Other issues
Due to a variety of reasons, there are numerous potential problems you may encounter. If you are having general problems connecting to the Internet or keeping your connection, try one or each the following:
Disconnect from and reconnect to the Internet. Disconnect from the Internet, restart your computer, and reconnect to the Internet. Try connecting at a later time. Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) may be busy and can't allow any more connections. Call your Internet Service Provider.
When using a Macintosh computer, why do I recieve an error message that says "could not open application x.html plug-in is needed"?
You may need to increase the amount of memory that is allocated to your browser. Find and select your browser on your hard disk. Choose Get Info from the File menu. If you are using Mac OS 8.5 or later, choose Memory from the pop-up menu. Increase the Preferred size.
I'm still stumped!
